Plastic Pocket Diet

            A very big reminder, happen when our beloved country, Indonesia, as the number two of a country in this world that throw plastic to the sea, after Tingkok. Meanwhile Indonesia is also very well-known with a country that very nice at the sea tourism, like how beautiful of our beach for vacation, how big our wave that very nice for surfing, until our underwater scenery that so rich and never be have by another country. This is so tragic, when we consider that our home is like the biggest rubbish place we have. That basicly we have to keep it very well at the very first beginning.

            This is the reason why Tuti Hendrawati, as our Environmental Menistry, make a payment for plastic pocket. Under the reason that she want to control the number of plastic trash in our country. She want to apply this kind of policy in this year, at the February 21^st, 2016 when we have a National Trash Awareness Day. It will be trial for 22 city that agree want to follow this rule, and just for rental industry. For example like supermarket, minimarket, modern market, etc.

            But before that, let see how the condition of our statusquo right now. As the developing country, who still have much more human population that we have to support their economy. More than 20 million people stay in this country who have more than 17 thousand island in our country. It means that it’s very big necessary that we have to fulfill for our daily activity. And most of that is covered by plastic.

            Moreover the number of rubbish place in our country is also can not accommodate the quantity of trash itself. You can imagine, more that 5 ton trash each city per day that we have to manage it well. Moreover again, pocket plastic is so hard to be execute when they are becoming trash. We need more than 100 years to make sure that it can be organic. So it means that we have much much more trash pile in everyday.

            More terrifying situation than that is about how the life style of the people that can’t support this kind of condition. Most likely people don’t have a rationality to throw the rubbish at the right place. Less of education is the biggest reason why they still throw the rubbish into the river. It brings flood disaster for every single part at the risk place, that make all layer of the society becoming worry for this accident. And they never have a comfort moment for their life. Moreover, our government also have to provide the idea contribution to help them as their citizen. Like food, clothes, etc. That actually spending our money again.

            Actually, our government already control this kind of condition under the mechanism of carrying out the rubbish. They also already make a big demonstration how dangerously of global warning effect as the impact of rubbish, also educate the people to picking out the rubbish into the right place, separate the trash between organic and unorganic trash. On how some of society also open their business creatively with make trash industry with 5R moval (Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Replant, and Reinform). They can open job opportunity with control the number of plastic to make a simple thing, like bag, hat, etc.

            But unfortunately, this activity can’t be accept as the following activity. Because it just center at the town square, we don’t see a it touch a rural area that basicly also really need this solution. More than that rental industry is also never be support this action. They like oppose this action when they as the biggest number of supporter of plastic pocket trash. This is really matter situation.

            Our government goal is quietly simple, that they wanna push the society to take back the beneficial of bag at home. So if they want to expense at the rental industry, they can bring their own pocket. Or even they also can reuse their plastic pocket. And to build this behavior, we have to force them first to pay for plastic pocket. Our government want to adopt the mechanism of proverb that say “We can love something if we already common with that”. Same with this cases, if you usually to bring your own pocket it can become your behavior.

            England and Hongkong are countries who already apply this method in their country. And they success full to decrease the number of plastic until 75%. It prove how positive significant improvement that we can get after we implement this kind of policy. We do hope this condition continuously as our main behavior in our daily activity and can become separate for all people J
